Remington Home Portable (1938)
This beautiful looking portable typewriter was assembled in London from parts in the USA in 1938, and has lovely gold lettering on the superb shiny black enamel paintwork. This model was first introduced during the Great Depression as a budget-friendly, no-frills alternative to standard portable models, stripping away non-essential features, such as the right-hand margin control, bell, line lock, and carriage lock, to lower the cost of the machine. This fine example has been fully serviced with a new ribbon fitted and is in excellent working order, with a nice clear standard pica typeface giving you 10 characters to the inch. The good quality keyboard has very nice chrome key rings and the machine is supplied with it's original carry case and a copy of user instructions. A very fine vintage typewriter in excellent working order.
Replacement ribbon for this machine is available to rewind onto the original spools. (group 1)
