Most Typewriter ribbons for manual typewriters now fit into three "groups", Group 1, Group 4 and Group 9. Use our handy guide below to find out which ribbon you need.
Group 1 Ribbons:
Manual typewriters brands that take a group 1 ribbon are Olympia, Adler, Erika, Blue Bird, Triumph and Facit.
Group 4 Ribbons:
Manual typewriters brands that take a group 4 ribbon are Olivetti typewriters and some later Underwood Portables.
Group 9 Ribbons
Manual typewriters brands that take a group 9 ribbon are Hermes, Silver Reed, Brother, Royal Portables, Earlier Underwood Portable typewriters and Earlier Smith Corona Typewriters.
