Underwood Noiseless 77 Portable (1947)
This beautiful portable from Underwood was manufactured in the USA in 1947, under licence from Remington. Although identical in manufacture to the 'Remington Number 7 Noiseless', the Underwood 77 is a much rarer model to find. It was designed to make as little sound as possible when typing, with a unique linkage system to deaden the sound of the typebars hitting the roller. This fine example is in superb original condition, and has been fully serviced in our workshop. It writes excellently with a nice clear standard pica typeface, giving you 10 characters to the inch. A superbly engineered vintage model which has now become very collectable.
Replacement ribbon for this machine is available to rewind onto the original spools. (group 9)
