Olympia Progress 1 Portable (1932)
This superb quality portable from the famous German maker Olympia was manufactured in 1932 at their Erfurt factory for export to England. On the back of the machine it shows the machine was sold by 'The Cosmos Typewriter Company' of Queen Victoria Street London. The machine has beautiful mirror finish enamel paintwork and glass keytops with lovely chrome key rings. It has been fully serviced with a new ribbon fitted and writes perfectly with a nice clear standard pica typeface giving you 10 characters to the inch. The machine still has it's original decorative spool covers and original instructions, both are usually missing on a machine of this age. It is very rare to find this model in such good condition and is the first example we have had for sale, a very collectable typewriter.
Replacement ribbons for this machine are available to order on our website. (Group 1 )
