This superb quality portable is in excellent original condition and was manufactured in 1955 at Olivetti's Glasgow factory. The 'Lettera 22' was awarded the Compasso d'oro prize in 1954 and in 1959 the Illinois Institute of Technology chose the Lettera 22 as the best design product of the last 100 years. This typewriter has been fully serviced with a new ribbon fitted and writes with a lovely clear elite typeface giving you 12 characters to the inch.  It is supplied with the original carry case, original soft dust cover, 'Typewriting Self-Taught' book, by Kate Stevens and the original user instructions. A very fine example of this well regarded model.
