Olivetti Lettera 22 (1960)
This lovely Olivetti portable was manufactured in Glasgow for the UK market in 1960 and has the tartan lining to the inside of the carry case to indicate it's Scottish origin. This very popular model was awarded the Compasso d'oro prize in 1954 and in 1959 the Illinois Institute of Technology chose the Lettera 22 as the best design product of the last 100 years. The typewriter has been fully serviced with a new ribbon fitted and is in good original condition. It writes very nicely with a elite typeface (12 characters to the inch) and is supplied with the original user instructions and soft dust cover. The carry case has some fraying to the zip, but is still functional and this is reflected in the price.
