Groma Model T Portable (1951)
This very rare and superbly made German typewriter, was manufactured by Groma at their Chemnitz factory situated in the German federal state of Saxony, for the English market. This is the first of this model we have had for sale, and is one of the most beautiful looking machines, with superb mirror finish black enamel paintwork, which shows off the lovely designed curves of the casings. As can be seen from the side pictures, the line space lever has been cleverly designed to the shape of the typewriter. It is the top of the range model with a keyset tabulator for column work, and has attractive light green square keytops which are not usually seen on the 'model T'. The machine has been thoroughly serviced in our workshop with a new ribbon fitted, and types very well with a pica typeface giving you 10 characters to the inch, and has a lovely light touch to the keyboard. The machine is supplied with the original carry case, and a copy of user instructions.
