Corona Silent Portable (1938)
This very attractive portable from the famous American company Smith Corona was manufactured in Canada in 1938. These are always a popular model due to their superb curved retro look with shiny enamel casings, chrome key rings, and a nice typing action. It features a tabulator for column work, and has the 'Floating Shift' mechanism patented by Smith Corona. The machine has been fully serviced with a new ribbon fitted and writes very well, with a standard pica typeface giving you 10 characters to the inch. Supplied with the original carry case and a copy of user instructions it is a lovely collectable model.
